Sharie L. Tussing

Sharie Lee Tussing, 75, was called to the Lord February 21, 2017 at Blanchard Valley Hospital Bridge Hospice. Born to Leslie and Helen Tatham in Hoytville, Ohio, July 11, 1941, Sharie was a country girl destined to see the world. She graduated from Hoytville High School and became a court room stenographer until she met the love of her life, Daniel E. Tussing, who would whisk her off the farm to the Army life. They married May 14, 1960 having 56 wonderful years together. Sharie traveled the world raising two children, Patricia (Brian) Douglas of Leipsic and Lawrence (Kim) Tussing of Pemberville. Whether living in Europe or other military posts throughout the United States, Sharie always made a loving home full of laughter for their family. She loved to travel and enjoyed camping and getting together with friends, but her favorite time was spent with her grandchildren Kyle, Ben and Caleb Tussing and Danielle and Gracie Douglas. Oh the lessons she tried to teach them that backfired. Many have been recipients of her homemade creativity whether it be meals/sweets, clothes, poems, cards or crafts. With a twinkle in her eye, she would come up with an idea to make just the perfect gift for someone. Sharie was well known for her sense of humor. As teenagers her children would worry what might come out of her mouth. As adults they loved it. And now they treasure those words, smiles and laughter. She was an active member of the Hoytville United Methodist Church as generations before her; serving as secretary and treasurer. She loved being part of the Order of the Eastern Star family holding many offices with Deshler Chapter including Deputy Grand Matron, District 7 (1992.) She is also survived by brother Willard (Ella) Tatham, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and sister, Marjorie Gibbons, Genoa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Helen Tatham and brother, Robert Tatham. Sharie’s family will be receiving friends from 4-8 pm, Friday, February 24, 2017 at Rodenberger Funeral Home, 133 E. Maple St. Deshler with Eastern Star service at 7:30 pm. Funeral will be at 11:00 am Saturday, February 25, 2017 at funeral home with burial at Milton Township Cemetery, Custer.
