Robert H. Behrman

Robert H. Behrman, 83, of Napoleon, Ohio died peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Fulton Manor in Wauseon, Ohio. He was born on May 11, 1933 in Richfield Township to the late Albert and Lorena (Schwiebert) Behrman. On April 22, 1956 he married Marcia C. Wiemken at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Napoleon Township and she preceded him in death on November 2, 2006. Bob worked as a Quality Inspector at Campbell Soup Company for 34 years and was an self- employed carpenter. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township, where he was on the building committee, past Sunday school superintendent, and helped with maintenance and annual Christmas decorating of the church. He was a member of the Ridgeville American Legion. Bob's main passion was "making sawdust", as he called it. He loved to design and work with wood. He helped design the church carport, he built his current house, and helped build all three of his children's houses. He also enjoyed polka dancing, playing cards and tending to his yard work and flower gardens. He is survived by his children, Julie (Steve) Gilgenbach of Napoleon, Ohio, Jane (Dan) Lighthill, Jr. of Defiance, Ohio, and Jeff (Sherry) Behrman of Napoleon, Ohio; grandchildren, Lindsey (Roger) Miller, Kristen Gilgenbach, Benjamin (Andrea Arps) Lighthill, Justin (Jaycee Stannard) Lighthill; 1 great grandchild, Jaylee Lighthill; step grandchildren, Jack (Jennifer) Frost, Jacob Frost, Jeremy (Sara) Frost, and Jason (Meghan) Frost; 10 step great grandchildren; siblings, Loretta Schroeder, Annetta Rosebrock, Delbert (Lorna) Behrman, Danelda (Robert) Drewes, Marjorie Behnfeldt, Darlene (Leonard) Rutter, Herbert (Lynn) Behrman, and Karen Rabe; sisters-in-law; Fran Behrman and Marilyn Behrman. He was preceded in death by siblings, Raymond Behrman, William Behrman, and Harold Behrman; brothers-in-law, Fred Schroeder, Edwin Rosebrock and Paul Rabe, and sister-in-law Joyce Behrman. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 4 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township. Interment will follow at church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
