Marjorie Mae Wachtmann

Marjorie Mae Wachtmann, 85, a lifelong resident of Napoleon, Ohio died peacefully on Friday, March 25 at her residence surrounded by family and friends.She was born July 13, 1930 in Defiance County to the late Gale "Jim" & Mabel (Zenz) Shumaker. On December 3, 1949, she married Raymond H. Wachtmann, who preceded her in death on December 3, 1998. Marjorie was the owner of Culligan Water Conditioning of Northwest Ohio with her late husband, Raymond since 1971. She also worked at the Napoleon Hardware and Wauseon Wire Factory. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. She was a faithful advocate of The Gideons International and a member of Gideons Auxiliary. A philanthropist at heart, she supported many organizations including Henry County Hospital Foundation, Orphan Grain Train, Gideons International and the Henry County Senior Center. She was active in the Henry County Republican Party. She was an accomplished China painter and the gifts of her work are enjoyed by people around the world. She always looked forward to family vacations, gathering the entire family together making memories for a lifetime. She is survived by children, David (Rosa) Wachtmann of Defiance, Lynn Wachtmann of Coldwater Mi. and Trudy Wachtmann of Napoleon and Lisa (David) Rutherford of Niceville, Florida, grandchildren; Camilo (Krysten Korthase) Cumpian, Mia (Paul) Lee, Jared Wachtmann, Elisha (Grace) Wachtmann, Marisa Wachtmann, Mariah Wachtmann, Cory Wachtmann, Aaron Wachtmann, Megan (Tibor) Pollak, Phillip Rutherford, and Michelle (Eric) Bell, great grandchildren; Taylor Leahy, Ronan Lee, and Orlando Cumpian; siblings, Joan Seibel, Harley (Carol) Shumaker, Hal (Marilyn) Shumaker, Art (Linda) Shumaker, and sister-in-law, Mona Shumaker. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30 from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and Thursday, March 31 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m at the church followed by a meal. Interment will be held at 2PM at Forest Hill Cemetery following the meal. Memorials are suggested to The Gideons International or Orphan Grain Train.
