Marjorie E. Altherr

Marjorie E. Altherr, 92, of Napoleon passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Genacross Lutheran Home. She was born April 21, 1928 in Attica, Ohio to the late Donald and Zola (Fast) Hamilton. On April 21, 1950, she married Harold Altherr at the Chapel in the Garden in Angola, Indiana and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2012. Marge graduated from the Maumee Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She went on to work as a RN at the Defiance Hospital, Northcrest Nursing Home, and the Henry County Hospital. Marge was loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and a crafty person, always sewing or knitting. She loved to quilt with the ladies at church and all her grandchildren have one of her masterpieces. Marge also loved to travel, wintering many years in Florida, camping around the US, and cruising around the world. Marge is survived by her children, Candace Altherr, Kevin (Kathy) Altherr, and Eric (Terri) Altherr; son in law, Alan Graver, grandchildren, Daniel (Brittni) Rudolph, Dea (Brian) Plummer, Kristin (Cole) Shepard, and Denton Rudolph, step grandchild, Nichol Salvo, great grandchildren, Eva and Elaina Rudolph, Jacob, Ethan and Carey Plummer, Camden and Kylin Shepard and Eliza, Azrael, Orin and Araris Rudolph, step great grandchildren Hannah (Tyler) Slight and Ella Salvo; and sister Donna Heibertshausen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Deborah Graver; grandson, Kyle Altherr and 8 siblings. Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 2:00 PM until the time of services at 5:00 PM. A private entombment will be held at Riverview Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to Christ United Methodist Church, Genacross Lutheran Services, or a charity of your choice.
