Luella May Alexander

Luella "Lu" May (Yedica) Alexander, 93, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Orchards of Northcrest, Napoleon, Ohio. She was born on January 29, 1923 in Archbold, Ohio to the late Henry and Lillie (Nofzinger) Yedica. She married Roger Alexander on October 28, 1947 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2002. Lu and Roger owned and operated Alexander Floor Covering in Napoleon from 1957 to 1972; closing the business to become associates for Crahan's Floor Covering. In August 1973, Lu was the first to teach Interior design at Four County Vocational School at the request of the school superintendent. She retired in 1991. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Napoleon, Henry County Retired Teachers, and Ohio STRS. She was a past member of Napoleon Soroptomist Club, Business and Professional Women, Henry County Hospital Auxiliary and a former Cub Scout leader and Girl Scout co-leader. She is survived by her children, Warren Terry (Linda) Alexander of Dowagiac, Michigan, Thomas (Rosemary) Alexander of Holgate, Ohio, Tina (Robert) Bogert and Tamara (George) Schmidt, both of Napoleon, Ohio; grandchildren, Greg (Angela) Alexander, Jeff (Amber) Alexander, William (Angie) Alexander, Jason (Molly) Alexander, Richard Alexander, Trisha St. John, Brad Bogert, Brian Schmidt (Erica Schulz); step-grandchildren, Esther (Doug) Stuber, Douglas (Heather) Nash, Michelle (Brent) Hesselschwardt, Sandie (Robert) Reither; great grandchildren, Elijah, Oliver, Madilynn, Torinne, Leon, Allison, Anthony, Tristan, Travyn, Brooke, and Joe; step great grandchildren, Jacob, Drew, Tyler, Ava, Mackenzie, SinJin, Zay, Adrianna, Alana, Aleisia, Noah, and Lily; 1 great-great grandchild; and 6 step great great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Henry) Huner of Montpelier, Ohio, Ann Beck of Archbold, Ohio, and Shirley (Robert) Wyse of Santa Clarita, California. She was preceded in death by infant brother, Henry Yedica, Jr.; brother, Kenneth Yedica; and sisters; Martha Costell and Pauline Zuver. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 20 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2 - 8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and one hour prior to service at the church.
