UPDATED Due to the in-climate weather today, Wednesday March, 12, 2014 visitation for Kyle Altherr has been cancelled. Visitation will be moved to Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with an hour of visitation prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will follow Glenwood Cemetery. Kyle Hamilton Altherr, 28, of Napoleon, Ohio died Saturday morning, March 8th, 2014 in Henry County from injuries sustained in a single car accident. Kyle was born on December 16, 1985 in Napoleon to Kevin and Kathy (Ross) Altherr. Kyle is survived by his parents, Kevin & Kathy, sister, Kristin (Cole) Shepard, nephew, Camden Shepard, paternal grandmother, Marjorie Altherr, and maternal grandmother, Marie Ross, all of Napoleon. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Harold Altherr, maternal grandfather, Charles Ross, and Petey, the family dog and Kyle's backyard companion, who was heartbroken and passed away within 24 hours of Kyle's death. Kyle was a 2004 graduate of Napoleon high school, where he was a 4 year letterman in wrestling. In high school, Kyle fine tuned his love for mechanics while working at Gunn's Auto Service. He attended Northwest State Community College and obtained degree's in Mechanical Engineering and CNC programming and had been employed at Alex Product's as a CNC machinist since 2007. He was a life member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Sons of the American Legion, and Pheasants Forever. More than all his achievements, Kyle was a loving and caring, kindhearted soul. He always went above and beyond to help out anyone with anything, without expecting anything in return. A true handyman, he was always working or fixing something; and if he couldn't fix it, he spent twice as long making it work. He also liked spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing; and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Indians, and country music. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 13 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Youth Center, Napoleon Wrestling Club c/o Henry County Bank, or a charity of the donor's choice.
