Jones Ruth

Our beloved mom was reunited with our loving dad, Robert, and her parents, grandparents and older sister on May 15, 2011. Ruth was born on December 27, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to Harold and Margaretha (Nartker) Huepenbecker, the second of three daughters. She attended and graduated from Notre Dame Academy. Ruth and Bob were married June 18, 1949 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Toledo. Ruth worked as Bob's secretary for several years while raising their family. Together, they travelled to many places over the years. In 1961, she moved with her family to Napoleon, Ohio where she lived for the last fifty years. She gave birth to six children; Linda (Jim) Jastrzemski, Nancy (Randy) Gable, Ellen (Dave) Rohrs, John (Jenny) Jones, Cathy (Scott) Gilliam, and Amy (Eric) Divis, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; Christi (Mark) Gable-Robeson, Jeff (Emily) Gable, Rob Jastrzemski, Kim Casdorph, Carrie Gable, Tracey (Mark) Schwiebert, Tim (Heather) Rohrs, Brad (Laura) Gable, Greg Rohrs, Erin Gilliam, Matt Gilliam, Kelsey Gilliam, Zach Jones, Jason Jones, and Anna Divis. She also had eight great-grandchildren; Chelsea, Clay, Megan, Dakota, Cynthea, Hailey, Jenna and Trevor. Her younger sister, Nancy (Jack) Armstrong, nieces, nephews, cousins, and some life-long friends survive as well. In her fifties she took up tennis and played several times a week well into her seventies. For many years, she enjoyed working as a precinct volunteer on election day. She was a member of the Bridge-A-Rama in Napoleon and several other bridge clubs until last year. She volunteered at her church, St. Augustine in Napoleon, as a Eucharistic Minister, Funeral Luncheon Coordinator, and helped count the weekly collection for the parish. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents, older sister and husband, Jean (Bill) Szabo, aunts and uncles, a niece, great niece, and cousins from Toledo, Ottawa, and other towns in Northwest Ohio.Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2-7:30 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, 1010 Westmoreland Ave. Napoleon, Ohio, with a Scripture service being held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 1 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Napoleon with Reverend Dan Borgelt officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens 29231 County Road 424 Defiance, Ohio. Any memorial donations can be made to either the church, Lutheran Home/Alpine Village, or Hospice of Henry County in Ruth's memory.The family would like to thank the staff at Alpine Village and Lutheran Home, where she loved to call bingo, and Reverend Lee Genter for their loving care of mom over the past several years, and especially to Hospice of Henry County for their loving care over the past several weeks.
