Helen Ann Hall

Helen Ann Hall, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 11, 2026, at CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center, in the presence of Jesus and her loving family. She was born on October 16, 1949 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Ruby Dukes and Smith Hurley. Helen married the love of her life, Kenneth Hall, when she was 16, and he was 17. They had their only child, Tammy, one year later. Helen and Kenny were married for 59 years. Kenny is now choosing to live his life in a way that honors her memory. When asking Kenny what he wanted written about Helen, he stated, “She was the most loving wife that anyone could ask for. She’s always been there for me. She will have a special place in my heart, and it will never leave. I am going to go home, and be with her when I leave this world.” Back in her youth, Helen worked at Campbells Soup Company. She lived most of her life as a homemaker, taking good care of her daughter, her husband, and loving his brothers and sisters like her own. She was like a second mother to them and gave them summers that were full of love and laughter throughout their childhoods. Helen was an avid reader and specifically loved biographies. She adored her animals and her cats outside. Her cat, Baby, was her pride and joy. Helen would often make trips out to food pantries to gather up as much as she could to bring to those in her life who she knew were in need. She had an incredibly kind and giving heart. In addition to her unwavering generosity, Helen was one of the funniest people on this planet. It brought her joy to make others laugh. The best memories of those who knew her were spent laughing alongside her. Helen is survived by her loving daughter, Tammy (Todd) Fedele. When Tammy was asked what she would like to be written about her mother, she stated, “Mom had a funny, silly sense of humor that made ordinary situations lively and memorable. Even though we didn’t have a lot of money, she always made sure she bought me a golden book from Chiefs Supermarket every time we went grocery shopping. She sacrificed her needs, so that I always had everything I needed. Mom gave me and my aunt Barb a one-hundred-dollar bill to go school clothes shopping every year before the new school year started–which really, was a lot back then. Every birthday and Christmas, she would get me a gift card, but also, a huge bag of special things that she curated throughout the year at garage sales–things that made her think of me. During difficult times in my life, she always said I could do anything if I believed in the power. Mom stayed strong in the midst of many adversities. I always admired that about her.” Helen is also survived by her five grandchildren: Gabriel Fedele, Abigail (Gabriel) Martinez, Lydia (Sam) Mock, Christopher Fedele, and Todd (Chirilyn) Fedele; seven great grand-children, Liam Martinez, Cecelia Rocha, Sadie Mock, Albert Mock, Asher Mock, Sophia Mock, Oliver Mock, Caitlyn Fedele, Caliah Fedele, and Todd Fedele III; brothers, Herb (Martha) Hurley, Brian (Dana) Dukes, Bruce (Dianne) Dukes and Larry (Kelly) HurleyA; sisters -in-law, Sandy Dukes and Judy Hurley; and brother-in-law, Al Rohda. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ruby Dukes, Edwin Dukes, and Smith Hurley; her sister, Sheila Phillips; her brothers, Jimmy Hurley, Duane Dukes, and Smith Hurley. The Visitation will be held at Rock Church at 20763 State Route 637, Oakwood, OH, 45873 on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. followed by her funeral service there beginning at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Perry Porter. There will be a lunch following. Helen’s favorite color was green, therefore, in her honor, anyone who would like to, is encouraged to wear green.
