Fitzenreiter Norman

Norman Henry Fitzenreiter, 86 of Napoleon died November 06, 2013 at Napoleon Lutheran Home, Napoleon. He was born January 23, 1927 in Freedom Township to the late Carl and Anna (Badenhop) Fitzenreiter. On May 14, 1949 he married Florence A. (Plassman) Fitzenreiter at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township.He was baptized on February 13, 1927 at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township by Reverend George Thun. On May 11, 1941 he was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township by Reverend George Maassel. He serviced in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II. He was a farmer and also worked as a foreman for the City of Napoleon for 25 years. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township and serviced as a chairman, deacon, trustee, Sunday school superintendent, chairman of the archives committee, and in the choir for over 40 years. He was on the Freedom Township zoning board for 23 years. He was member and two times past commander of the Ridgeville Legion Post 454. He is survived by wife, Florence, children; Diane (Gary) Harmon of Napoleon, Linda (Thomas) Richard of West Chester, James (Janice) Fitzenreiter, David Fitzenreiter, all of Napoleon. Grandchildren; Matthew (Kathryn) Harmon, Tiffany (Matthew) Small, Tracy (Chris) Willman, Amy (David) Meyers, Kyle (Allison) Fitzenreiter, Dana (Wes) Adams. Great Grandchildren; Jonathan Harmon, Jacob Harmon, Christopher Willman, Liza Willman, Elliot Meyers, Alec Meyers, Liam Fitzenreiter, Quinn Fitzenreiter, Cole Adams, Cooper Small. Sisters; Lois Lange, Florence (Ellsworth) Mitchell, all of Napoleon. He was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Fitzenreiter, a brother Walter Fitzenreiter, and a brother in law Norman Lange. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church Freedom Township. Officiating Pastor Stephen Niermann. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 - 4 pm and 5 - 8 pm at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday. Family suggest memorial donations to St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township or to a charity of the donors choice.
