Ethel E. Junge

Ethel E. (Goldsmith) Junge, 90, of McClure, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Grand Rapids Care Center. She was born on November 8, 1935, in Wauseon, Ohio, to the late Harry and Caroline (Sauder) Goldsmith. On December 5, 1954, she married the love of her life, Norman “Gus” R. Junge. Together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2014. Ethel was an active member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Throughout her life, Ethel worked for Pete Goldsmith in Wauseon, Temcole in McClure, and later for her brother, Clarence Goldsmith, at Goldsmith Eggs in Wauseon for many years. She was also a tremendous help to her husband on the family farm. Ethel loved being outdoors tending to her beautiful flower beds and gardening. She enjoyed mowing the lawn and took great pride in keeping the family home and farm looking their best. Ethel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Rox Ann (Douglas) Adams, Jackie (Robert) Allen, Norman (Beth) Junge, and Karen (Raymond) Rutledge; nine grandchildren, Karla (John) Lightner, Teahl Light, Anderia (Jimmy) Hartman, Shannon Allen, Desarae (Tony) Miller, Nathan (Chelsea) Junge, Amanda (Bryan) Baldwin, Rayna (Justin) Pettit, and Ryan (Emma McGuire) Rutledge; two step-grandchildren, Raechel (Mark) Feehan and Heather (Jason) Lane; 18 great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Sexton, Tori (Jeremy) Kitchen, Trey “TJ” (Maddy Traxler) Hartman, Trent (Kaley Daniel) Hartman, Preston, Alexa, and Keaton Miller, Austin, Alyssa, and Alijah “Jake” Junge, Anthony and Alexis Wallace, Ashland Baldwin, Abbigayl and Wyatt Pettit, Callum Rutledge, and Wes Silver; four step-great-grandchildren, Clayton, Faith, and Whitney Feehan, and Lillie Marr; one great-great-grandchild, with another expected in October; brother, Clarence “Slim” Goldsmith; sister-in-law, Midge Goldsmith; and special friends, Thomas (Deb) Mowery and Paul (Betty) Mowery. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Herman, Harley, Ernie, Wayne, and Richard Goldsmith; and sisters, Elma Henderson, Zelma Castor, and Fern Weyandt. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home in Napoleon, Ohio. Interment will follow at Hockman Cemetery in McClure, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2–8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10–11 a.m. at the funeral home.
