Eleonora Koppenhofer

Eleonora A. Koppenhofer, 91, of Napoleon, Ohio died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 16, 1925 in Gerald, Ohio to the late Alvin & Luella (Bergstedt) Miller. On July 12, 1945, she married August F. Hoops in Napoleon. Ohio and he preceded her in death March 6, 1972. She then married Eldon Koppenhofer on December 11, 1976 in Deshler, Ohio and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2001. Eleonora was a homemaker and was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon and its Women of the Church. She was also a former member of St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was an active member of the Women of the church; and was a former member of Peace Reformed Church, Napoleon. She was also a member of the Napoleon American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid baseball fan of Detroit Tigers and Toledo Mud Hens, and she was honored with throwing out the first pitch for her 90th birthday at a Mud Hens game. She enjoyed dining out and shopping, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her children; Patricia (Michael) Mohring of Napoleon, Bonnie Palamara of Napoleon, Terry (Mary) Hoops of Deshler, Michael (Lisa) Hoops of Deshler, Julie (Marvin) MtCastle of Napoleon, Jon (Dawn) Hoops of Napoleon, stepdaughter, Lois (Richard) Blausey of Willow Spring, North Carolina, grandchildren; Derek (Lauren) Mohring, Peter Mohring, Holly Mohring, Gretchen (Keith) Palamara, Jason (Lori) Palamara, Zachary (Maurine) Palamara, Kathryn (Aaron) Kolodziejczyk, Andrew (Jennifer) Hoops, Laura (C.J.) Parker, Adam (Beth) Hoops, Ashley (Shain) Meyer, Allyson Hoops, Jeffrey (Kari) MtCastle, Matthew MtCastle, Marcus MtCastle, Rachel (Mike) Hoops-Linden, Ellen (Mike) Bogert, Meredith Hoops, step grandchildren, John (Laura) Blausey and Robert Blausey, great grandchildren; Zuzu, Jovie, Frankie, Cambria, Sophie, Landen, Taryn, August, Ralph, Eleonora, Brystol, Brielle, Briggs, Carston, Adalyn, Blayne, Alex, J.J., Claire, and Paige, a sister, Mildred Miller of Napoleon, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Miller of Swanton. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erin Mohring, son-in-law, Gary Palamara, and siblings; Olga Kruse, Esther Fouts, Lorna Bostelman, Ruth Bostelman, Vernon Miller, Harlan Miller, Betty Botjer, and Donald Miller. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon with Pastor James Castello officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Deshler, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and Wednesday from 9-10 a.m. at the church.
