Douglas LeRoy Hoffman

Douglas LeRoy Hoffman, (80), of Napoleon, Ohio, died while riding his bicycle Saturday morning, October 21, 2023. We found him resting peacefully in the grass with his bicycle parked nearby. He was born on January 15, 1943 to Clement and Louise (Rabe) Hoffman. Douglas taught school in the Anthony Wayne School District for 32 years and retired in 2001. He loved to bike ride, maintain his yard, and teach his kids and grandkids all kinds of amazing skills. He enjoyed helping people with many things, especially with their Apple products. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Fischer) Hoffman, and three children, Deborah (Bruce) Monnin of Minster, OH, Joan (Thomas) Drobnak of Olmsted Township, OH, and Christopher (Teresa) Hoffman of Greenwood, IN along with his eight grandchildren: Alexandra (Bryce) Trumble, Rebekah Monnin, Mark Drobnak, Aster Hoffman, Rachel Drobnak, Amelia Hoffman, Brian Drobnak, Erin Hoffman, and Jack Trumble, his Great-Grandson. He is also survived by his four siblings: Carol Dille, Linda Gamblin, Nancy (Stephen) York, and Steven (Bonita) Hoffman and by his sister-in-law, Beverly Fischer. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother-in-laws: Richard Dille, Carl Gamblin, and Donald J. Fischer. Douglas was always curious, enjoyed visiting with people, and loved to find new and creative ways to do things. He and Judy put many miles on their camper and loved to see new places and meet new friends. His friends and family will miss him greatly. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon, OH. A celebration of life worship service will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 2 pm at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 810 Scott Street, Napoleon, OH. Please join us immediately following the service for fellowship at The Armory Arts & Events Center, 127 East Clinton Street, Napoleon, OH.
