Leona L. BabcockNovember 28, 1926-July 13, 2013Leona Louise (Junge) Babcock, 86, of McClure, Ohio passed away peacefully at her residence on July 13, 2013.She was born November 28, 1926 in Hamler, Ohio to the late Gustav H. and Veda M. (Casteel) Junge, the oldest of seven children. In the morning of August 5, 1942, she married Orville Richard Babcock, and later that afternoon, helped her parents bale hay at the family farm. Orville died on February 15, 1998. Leona was a woman who lived each day to the fullest. She was a nonstop worker and tirelessly helped family and friends. She was a homemaker, gardener, seamstress and crafter. She formerly worked at Campbell Soup Company and Temcole. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in McClure and participated in nearly every volunteer and elected position in the church throughout the years. She was a talented Sunday School Teacher and enjoyed leading the women's group. She is survived by three children; Richard L. (Linda) Babcock of Deshler, Robert E. (Cathy) Babcock of Montpelier, and Joy (Jeff) Botjer of McClure, five grandchildren; Christine Babcock, Richard W. (Angie) Babcock, and Andrew Babcock all of Deshler, Monique (Abby Bickford) Botjer of Lakewood, CO., and Tiffany Botjer of Deshler, ten great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Bethany, Kyle, Tyler, Hope Dangler, Sarah and Makayla Babcock, Bailey Smith, Gabriel Botjer-Smith, Benjamen Gehring and Logan Smith, five siblings; Neoma Rhoads, Iona Burdue, Nora Ann Junge all of Napoleon, Norman Junge and Caroll Bowles all of McClure. Preceding her in death was an infant sister, Clara Junge.Leona was also a cherished member of her husband's family, Lyvonne (Earl) Kelly and James, Jr. (Eileen) Babcock, all deceased, Clara (William) Fish, and Lois (Ivan, deceased) Fish. Three generations of nieces and nephews on both sides of the family were fond of their Aunt Leona; one of her nieces has given a new home to her special little dog, "Black Jack". Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in McClure with interment to follow at Hockman Cemetery in McClure. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of McClure, Hospice of Henry County or to a charity of the donor's choice.
