Phyllis Irene Silveus, 89, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Ridgeville Township on November 18, 1931 to Otto and Luella (Meyer) Dehnbostel. Phyllis married James Silveus on April 19, 1953 at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township. Phyllis was an incredibly talented seamstress and was the owner of Silveus Draperies. She created many wedding and bridesmaid dresses, countless alterations, and banners for the church. Phyllis was active in the church quilting group, choir, Women of Freedom and served as a Sunday school teacher. Her greatest joy was her family and loved to spend time surrounded by them. She especially enjoyed following her grandchildren’s sports and activities. Phyllis is survived by her children, David (Debra) Silveus, Diane (Dennis) Von Deylen, and Debra (Larry) Gossman; grandchildren Bret (Tiffany) Silveus, Curt (Molly) Silveus, Nicole (Joel) Stier, Adam (Chelsea) Von Deylen, Sarah (Barton) Goss, and Jessica (Jason) Wyse; 12 great grandchildren; and sisters, Norma Ruffer and Carol Ruffer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; grandsons, Andrew Silveus and Kyle Von Deylen; and sisters Betty Wittenberg-Schweibert and Hildegard “Dee” Bortz. Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township, on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM with an hour of visitation prior to services. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Home Fund or Heartland Hospice.
