Jerry J. Pierce

Jerry J. Pierce, 80, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away on February 15, 2022. He was born in Fostoria, Ohio on November 12, 1941, to Daniel and Bertha (Reese) Pierce. Jerry married Judy Franz on April 18, 1964, at St. Paul Methodist Church, Napoleon. Jerry worked for Tenneco and served in the US Army National Guard. He enjoyed watching westerns on TV and following The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. Jerry coached little league baseball in Napoleon for over 15 years. He also enjoyed fishing and teaching the grandkids to fish. Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy; children, Wanda (Merle) Deaton, Timothy (Shannon) Pierce, and Sheryl (Paul) Chapman; grandchildren, Matt (Erin) Deaton, DJ (Kayt) Deaton, Christopher Pierce, Melissa Pierce, Danielle Pierce, Cameron Pierce, Taryn (Dakota) Startzman, and Logan Schroeder; step grandchildren, Heather Chapman, Tyler Chapman, and Anna Chapman; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Linda) Pierce and Rodney (Melissa) Pierce; and faithful dog, Sammy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Loretta Pierce, Sarah (Eugene) Diemer, and Joyce (Robert) Jones. Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM with an hour of visitation prior to services, Interment will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.
