Harold Eugene Ward Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Harold Eugene “Gene” Ward, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022 in Stafford, VA. He was born July 25, 1934 to Harold and Leota Ward. At the age of 22, he married Constance “Connie” Kinkaid in Holland, Ohio. Gene passed away three days before their 65th anniversary. Gene was one of 13 in his 1952 graduation class at Malinta-Grelton High School. He went on to work and retire from the Libbey-Owens-Ford Company in Rossford, Ohio. For 46 years, he took great pride in his home in Grand Rapids, Ohio. Gene was a creative soul who loved woodworking. Before relocating closer to family, Gene could often be found rocking in his chair and smoking a cigar outside his workshop. Gene is survived by his wife, Connie; his daughters, Cindy (James) Porter, Brenda (William) McClafferty, and Denise (Stacy) Mason; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Betty (Ralph) Aschliman. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Katie Mason, who he affectionately called “Sarge.” Friends and family are invited to visitation from 10:30am - 12:30pm on Friday, January 28th at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Grelton Cemetery.
