Harold A Cordes Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Harold A. Cordes, 95, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2022. He was born December 23, 1926, in Adams Township, Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Fredrick and Emile (Hurst) Cordes. On March 28, 1948, he married Irene E. Botjer. Harold was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township. He was a farmer for 88 years and raised steers, pigs, and chickens. Harold was affectionately known as the “hay man” for selling and delivering hay and straw to people for many years. In addition to working on the farm, he did some carpentry work on the side with a group of friends. Harold is survived by his children, Kenneth (Mary Cramer) Cordes, Patricia (Rodney) Wyse, and Keith (Arlene) Cordes. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; brothers, Edwin, Alfred and Eldor; sisters, Laura Meyer, Minnie Meineke, and Tillie Hoffman; and daughter-in-law, Margie Cordes. Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM with an hour of visitation prior to services. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Napoleon Township, Filling Home of Mercy or a charity of your choice.
