Clarence Lee Ohlinger Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Clarence Lee Ohlinger, 80, of Napoleon, Ohio was greeted by the angels on March 15, 2022, to take him to his final home. He was born to Robert and Violet (Turpening) Ohlinger on August 2, 1941, in Fairfield, Michigan. Clarence was a painter for over 50 years. He began his career working on the paint crew at Campbell Soup Company and worked for painters in Toledo. He later started his own painting business which he ran for over 10 years. Although painting was his passion, he truly enjoyed meeting people through his work. Clarence loved to play games with his family and friends. He especially loved card games. He often hosted Texas Hold ‘Em parties at his house. Clarence enjoyed playing pool, chess, and golf, sometimes going twice a day. He liked to gamble and was always looking for a new casino to visit. His favorite teams to cheer for were the Michigan Wolverines and the Dallas Cowboys. However, nothing was more precious to Clarence than spending time with his family. Clarence was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. He also belonged to the Gideon’s and the Sons of the American Legion. Clarence married Bernice Jean Sines on March 14, 1962, and later divorced. He married Constance Gerken Ritz on April 7, 1984. He is survived by his wife Constance as well as children, Nicholas (Sharon) Dann, Lori Ohlinger, Christopher (Brenda) Ohlinger, Carrie Ohlinger, Sarah (Karl) Aschemeier, and Michael Ritz; grandchildren, Katrina Dann, Kristina (Nick Nicely) Dann, Lisa Hall, Shayna Hall, Ashley Taquino, Justin (Jessica) Ohlinger, Jessica (Richard) Borton, Jillian (Austin) Dantin, Patrick Woody, Damian (Brandy) Haley, Alex (Natasha) Haley, Gage Strouse, Kaelynn Glanz, Raleigh Aschemeier, and Connor Aschemeier, along with 17 great grandchildren with three more expected this year. He is also survived by his sisters, Donna (Dalton) Becker, Juanita Cline, and Brenda Gentz. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Ronald Ohlinger, Royce Ohlinger, Robert Ohlinger, and Gloria Kaufman. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21 from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.
