Charles "Gordie" Emahiser Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles Gordon Emahiser, 87, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022, with his beloved wife by his side. He was born in Neapolis, Ohio on June 27, 1934, to the late Mildred and Marion Emahiser. On February 20, 1954, he married Josephine (Sczepanski) Emahiser at the Liberty Center Methodist Church. Charles worked at Jeep/Chrysler in Toledo, Ohio, for 30 years, until he retired from there in March of 1994. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Charles was a hardworking man who loved to tinker, always creative and innovative with his projects. He was a hobby farmer in his younger years; raising livestock and growing row crops, with his kids along his side helping with everything he needed. The state of Florida had his heart, it’s where he taught his grandkids how to pick the grapefruit and catch the geckos in the gutters of their Florida home. He will be remembered for all the time he spent behind his video camera making sure he didn’t miss a moment of his family’s lives. He is survived by wife, Jo Emahiser, Napoleon; daughters, Deb (Bill) Spiess, Indiana, Julie (Tim) Bowen, Liberty Center, Ohio, Teresa (David) Jones, Napoleon, Ohio, Kay (Todd) Maassel, Defiance, Ohio; and son, Greg (Toni) Emahiser, Liberty Center, Ohio; grandchildren, Stephanie (Carl) Pippin, Jamie (Kent) Snyder, Brad (Chelsea) Howe, David (Ashley) Bowen, Zach (Meagan) Bowen, Joe and Maddie Jones, Lynnsey and Logan Maassel, Sarah Emahiser, Haley (fiancé Cameron) and Alexa Polsdorfer. Along with 14 great – grandchildren. Also, surviving are Charles sisters Faye Seel of Swanton, Ohio, Peg Schwan of Liberty Center, Ohio, and Sue Taylor, Florida. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by brothers Delbert, Leo, and Bob, and daughter Linda. Due to Charles wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CHP of Defiance, Colton United Methodist Church, or Napoleon Fireman’s Association.
