William H. Busch

William H. Busch, 80, of Malinta, passed away peacefully, February 16, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on August 30, 1936 in Malinta, Ohio to the late Albert and Iona (Lulfs) Busch, He was proud to say lived his entire life in Malinta, loving and supporting his community. He graduated from Malinta High School. He then proudly served the National Guard for a total of 21 years. During which he married his wife, Carolyn Haase Busch on October 16, 1960 at St. John's United Church of Christ. Bill was a heavy equipment operator, and later an employee for ITT Higbea in Archbold, retiring in 2007. His most loved job was that of being a lifelong farmer, he loved raising and sharing his produce in anyway. He was one of the farmers to develop the Farmers Market, in many communities including Henry County. He also was one of the founding fathers of the Senior Nutrition Program for Henry County as well as one of the people to begin the Fall Festival's in the county. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Malinta. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Busch, Malinta, children; Tracy (Julie) Busch of Napoleon, Tami (Dan) Hartman of Hamler, grandchildren, Rachel Hartman, Alishia Hartman, Lance Busch, great grandchildren, Karli Hartman, Xavier Anderson, 3 step grandchildren, siblings, Donna Mae Nagel of Wauseon, Janet Packard and Mary Wiles both of Malinta, Judy (Chuck English, JoAnn Schroeder-Weber, and sister-in-law, Marie Busch all of Napoleon. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jim Busch, Jerry Busch and sister Dolores Weber. Funeral services will be held on Monday February 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon with interment to follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, Ohio where Military Rites will be accorded by Napoleon Joint Veterans Posts. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, from 2-8 p.m. and on Monday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the United Way Cancer Fund for Henry County, the Monroe Twp., Fire Department, the Southern Joint Ambulance District, or the Henry County Transportation.
