Walther Shannon

Shannon Paul Walther, 37, lost his brave battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on Tuesday at Swanton Valley Care and Rehabilitation in Swanton.Shannon was born on August 31, 1971 to his loving parents, Robert and Pam Walther of Deshler, Ohio. He has a sister Gena (Dave) Bzovi and a niece, Anna Bzovi. He was a 1990 graduate of Patrick Henry High School and held a Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master's Degree from Tiffin University. On August 25, 2001 he married Jodi (Stoufer) Walther, and on November 6, 2004 he proudly welcomed the joy of his life into the world, his beautiful daughter, Sadie Dalen Walther.Shannon was employed by Owens Corning in Toledo, Oho and spent much of his time transforming his incredible ambition into numerous business ventures; some of which came to fruition and others which resided comfortably in his mind for future use. Shannon had the ability to see opportunities where others would not, and he would not hesitate to take those who were interested along on those rides.Shannon was an amazing person who could strike up a conversation with anyone at anytime. He loved his family more than anything on Earth, and will now be able to watch over us all from a much broader vantage point.During his 2 year battle with this devastating disease, Shannon had the constant and unwavering support of his family and friends, but the soldiers who are left standing, who dug into the trenches with him day in and day out, are his wife, Jodi; mother, Pam; Father, Robert; and Sister, Gena. Even in the most questionable days, Shannon always knew he was surrounded by the purest, most unconditional love. We are all so proud and honored to have been given the privilege to know and love Shannon.He bravely left this Earth surrounded by that same core group of "pillars", and he wouldn't have wanted it any other way. His beloved Sadie will always have an Angel of her very own, and although she will miss playing with Daddy, she understands that he was very special and that his is always with her now. Precededing him in death and welcoming him to Heaven are his Maternal Grandparents, Eugene and Bessie Miller; and Paternal Grandparents, Harmon and Vinifred Walther (Deshler).The family would like to thank all of the family and friends who have rallied around us from the beginning. You kept us going with your kind words and prayers, and we love you all. And in all this heartache and pain, please keep in mind that Shannon is up there right now trying to figure out how to develop and market the latest in high-tech angel wings!A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler with Fr. Jeff Nordhaus officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler. The family suggest memorials to the Shannon Walther Benefit.
