Paul M. Lange

Paul M. Lange, 85, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 31 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on the family farm in Henry County on November 3, 1930 to the late Carl & Alvina (Fintel) Lange. He was baptized on Nov. 10, 1930 and confirmed on April of 1944 at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler. On June 4, 1950, he married Margie Cordes at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler. Paul was the Manager for the Ohio Gas Company and retired in 1994. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon for over 50 years, where he served as former head trustee and elder. He was a former member of the Napoleon Lions Club. He was an avid golfer, bowler and fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a life member of the Napoleon VFW and AMVETS. He was a life member and Past Commander of the Napoleon American Legion. He served as Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Heavy Weapons Company 45th Division 179th Regiment during the Korean War. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margie, children; Leslie (Paula) Lange of Henderson, KY, Janni (Larry) Buenger of Okolona, and Carey (Beth) Lange of Napoleon, grandchildren; Andrea (Lucas) Maggart and Nicole Lange (Eliseo Gonzalez), Andrew Buenger (Sheela Haas), Brian Buenger, and Darrin Buenger (Katelyn Kennedy), and Ethan Lange, Zachary Lange, and Nicholas Lange, and 6 great grandchildren, brothers; Arnold Lange of Ft. Myers, FL, and Victor (Irma) Lange of Napoleon, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Lange of Kissimmee, FL. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Lange and sister-in-law, Wilma Lange. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance where military honors will be accorded by the Napoleon Joint Veteran Posts. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
