Naomi Ruth Koch

Naomi Ruth Baumgardner Koch, 88, was welcomed into her heavenly home on October 7, 2020. She was born on May 13, 1932 in Mount Orab, Ohio to Walter and Grace (North) Baumgardner. On June 20, 1953, she married Frank Koch, who died on November 13, 2010. Naomi accepted Jesus as her Savior as a child and faithfully attended the Wesleyan Church in Grand Rapids, Ohio for most of her life. She was very active in the church and enjoyed working with the Cradle Roll infants and attending Missionary meetings. Most recently she attended the Napoleon Church of the Nazarene. Naomi and Frank enjoyed wintering in Palmetto, Florida and being a part of Harrison Gleaners. People were drawn to her cheerful demeanor, willingness to listen and being present for any friend that needed her. Many elderly neighbors appreciated her servant’s heart as she checked in on them and visited with them. Naomi enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting in her free time. She worked very hard maintaining her large garden and canning many of the vegetables for the family. That love of gardening was passed on to her children. Naomi’s pride and joy came from being with her family, celebrating holidays together and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Naomi worked for the City Loan prior to becoming a homemaker and stay at home mother of five children. She is survived by her children, Daniel (Sara) Koch, Kevin Koch, Marjorie (Craig) Buell, Susan (Douglas) Haase, Mary (Dave) Schnabele; grandchildren, Danielle, Rachel and Lucas Koch, Michael (Lindsey) Koch, Sara (Adam) Petrucci, Evan (Katie) Buell, Ryan (Jenna) Buell, Matthew (Michelle) Haase, Eleesa (Adam) Boyer, and Adrienne (Paul) Prielipp; and 10 great grandchildren with one more on the way. In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; grandson, Aaron Koch; daughter-in-law, Faith Koch; and sister, Lois Jean Downey Traugh. Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon on Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be private. Interment will take place at Texas Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Street Mission or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
