Lucille Anna Sunderman

Lucille Anna Sunderman, 90, of Napoleon, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 07, 2014 at The Lutheran Home, Napoleon. She was born January 21, 1924 in Freedom Township to Anton and Wilhelmina (Drewes) Panning. On January 9, 1943 she married Arthur Sunderman in Baltimore, Maryland who preceded her in death on November 13, 2006. Lucille worked along side Art, farming in Richfield and Monroe Townships. She was an avid genealogist and an active member of the German Lutheran Heritage Society. She translated many German Church records for area churches. She and Art loved to travel both in the United States, Europe, and especially their ancestral area in Germany. She is survived by a son, William (Marsha) Sunderman, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; 2 daughters, Mary (Jed) Osborn, Leipsic, Ohio and Ruth (Mike) Aderman, Hamler, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Carrie (Jay) Kopp, Cobin Sunderman, Kathrine (Andrew) Lorenz, Jennifer (Sean O'Briant) Osborn, Abigail (Trent) Hertzfeld, Nathaniel Osborn, Stephanie (Nicholas) Smith, Andrew (Jessica) Aderman and Elizabeth Aderman, 3 step-grandchildren, Megan (Chad) Coaston, Jason Topnick and Bryan (Amanda) Topnick; 13 great grandchildren, Greyson Kopp, Ryan Lorenz, Isabel Lorenz, Maeli Lucille O'Briant, Quinn O'Briant, Addison Hertzfeld, Mackenzie Hertzfeld, Ethan Hertzfeld, Sophie Smith, Charlie Smith, Issac Aderman, Bennett Aderman, Evelyn Aderman; 7 great stepgrandchildren, Jordan Coaston, Travis Coaston, Jaden Coaston, Elli Topnick, Emma Topnick, Elijah Topnick, Brennen Topnick; sister, Norma Kettler, Springfield, Ohio; brother, Ronald (Bev) Panning, Mentor, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Grace Marie Aderman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 11 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon with Pastor Peter Marcis and Pastor Charles Kramer officiating. Interment will follow at Grelton Cemetery, Grelton, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, Ohio and one hour prior to the service.
