Leona Anna Henry

Leona Anna (Rathge) Henry, 96, of Napoleon, Ohio took the hand of her Savior Jesus Christ and followed Him to her Heavenly home on Thursday, January 25th, 2018 at Fulton Manor, Wauseon, Ohio. She was born November 15, 1921 in Napoleon, Ohio to the late August and Anna (Beckman) Rathge. On April 18, 1944, she married John L. Henry at St. Peter Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2007. Leona was a 1940 graduate of Ridgeville High School. She previously worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne, Indiana and devoted her life to her husband and four children. She was a loving Grandma, and cared deeply for the souls of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, member of the ladies aid and was the Cradle Roll secretary for many years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning vegtables and fruits from the orchard and garden. She often baked her famous apple pie. She is survived by her children, Marilyn (Dean) Kinsman of Archbold, OH and Irene (Steven) Rosebrock of Hudson, Michigan, Carl (Colleen) Henry of Bryan, Ohio, and Wayne (Veronica) Henry of Napoleon, Ohio; grandchildren, David (Melanie) Fortier, Leslie (Dave) Kelly, Kim (Randy) Swoverland, Krista (Dennis) McCarty, Wade (Cris) Rosebrock, Wyatt Rosebrock, Melissa (Adam) Andres, Chelsea (Kurtis) Brown, Pete (Brooke) Henry, Josh Henry, and Jordan Henry; great grandchildren, Avery, Zach, and Devin Kelly, Kasey and Reggie Swoverland, Travis, Jacob, and Kaitlyn McCarty, Mae, Madi and Melody Rosebrock, Adysen, Noah, and Liam Andres, Kimber Brown, Izabelle, Tate, and Ty Henry; brother, Clarence Rathge of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and sister, Lucille (Robert) Bauer of Edon, Ohio. In addition to her parents and husband of 63 years,she was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Deanne Fortier and Ryan Kinsman; great grandchildren, Mya Nicole Rosebrock and Baby Henry; sister, Luella Rentz, sister-in-law, Lois Rathge, and brother-in-law, Burl Rentz. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 - 8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, Ohio and on Saturday from 10-11 a.m; at the church.
