Larry Lee Brinkman

Larry Lee Brinkman, 77, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was born on November 7, 1947, to the late Lee and Bernita (Ward) Brinkman, in Napoleon, Ohio. In October of 1970, he married the love of his life, Janice Barton, and spent a loving 54 years together. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler. Larry graduated from Hamler high school, then moved on to Anderson Barber College shortly after. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served his country from 1967 until 1969. In 1968, he served in the Vietnam war to earn a purple heart award for his dedicated service. Larry was a member of the Napoleon American Legion Post 300, as well as New Bavaria VFW, Post 8847. He worked for various barber shops including Colonial West, Adams, as well as an owner of Western Barber Shop in Holgate, Ohio. He also worked for General Motors Company as a forklift driver for 40 years until retirement. Larry loved his family dearly and would often go on camping trips and traveling to various places with them. He also coached baseball for Malinta for several years and loved every minute. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Janice; children, Kirk and Kraig Brinkman; grandchildren, Devyn Brinkman, Laryn Brinkman, Kaige Brinkman, Kamry Brinkman, Kylie Brinkman, Kierstyn Brinkman, and Emma Brinkman; daughter-in-law, Melissa Brinkman; brother, Byron Brinkman; several nieces and nephews; and Raj Bains, who was a very special friend and supporter to the Brinkman family over many years. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Troy Barton, and his loving son, Kyle Brinkman, who passed away in May of 2024. Friends and family will be received at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 2pm until 7pm. Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 11am with an hour of visitation prior to services. Interment will take place at Hoy Cemetery, Napoleon, immediately following services, where military honors will take place by the Napoleon American Legion, Post 300.
