James "Jimm" Small

James “Jimm” Allen Small, 72, of Napoleon, Ohio passed peacefully away at his home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. He was born in Napoleon, Ohio on April 17, 1951 to the late John and Patricia (Bowers) Small. James graduated from Napoleon High school in 1969. He attended Bowling Green State University for three years. On November 21, 1992, Jimm married Louise (Feigel,) and they have been married for 32 years. Jimm’s work career…Jimm began working for Aquatek Water Conditioning in Wauseon, Ohio as a route driver in 1972 and continued working there for 38 years until 2010. He loved being on his own, talking with customers, listening to talk radio shows through the day. During retirement years, he loved seeing his grandchildren, dining out, going to casinos, and traveling “up north”, especially to Frankenmuth and Curtis, Michigan. Jimm loved music and sports. He enjoyed playing guitar and writing songs. In his high school years, he was a part of a garage band called the Psychedelic Raspberries. His favorite musical era was the 60’s. On any given day, he could be found watching sports on tv. An avid Browns and Lions fan in the fall, Tigers and Reds fan in the spring and summer. He also rooted for any college football team that played against Michigan. Jimm enjoyed playing football and Little League. He umpired at Napoleon Little League games beginning in high school all the way into the 90’s. He will especially be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. He loved to make you laugh by telling dad joke or a “wise” crack about the situation. Jimm is survived by his loving wife, Louise; daughter, Erinn (Joe) McDonald; grandchildren, Reese and Cassidy; brothers, John Small, Lawrence (Ruth) Small, Dennis Small, Michael (Susan) Small; sisters, Jody (Richard) Barnes, Beth (Jerry) Courtney, Lori (Joe) Brownson, sister-in laws Lucille Feigel Kenyon (Fred Marsh), Carol Feigel Castro (Phillip) and brother-in-law Carl Feigel plus many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family wants to thank Waite Nightingales for their kind and caring home assistance this past year and a half. Special thanks to Heather Waite, Mike Nihiser, Kierstin Wright, Briana Johnson, Kayla Bates, Connie Keeran, Joe Woods, Melissa Hansen and Marrah Elston. Also, thanks to Gentevia Heartland Home Hospice for your care. Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Logan Scheiwe officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
