Honemann Dorothy

Dorothy S. (Meyer) Honemann, 95, of Napoleon, formerly of Hamler, OH went to her Savior on Saturday, September 25, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 1st, 1915 in Ridgeville Corners, OH to the late Herman & Emma (Scheele) Meyer. On May 28, 1936, she married George Honemann at their future family home and farm. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1980. Dorothy was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler, where she was involved in many activities including Ladies of Peace, of which she was a charter member, church quilting group, and church couples bowling league. She was a homemaker/ farmer and greatly enjoyed extensive traveling of all 50 states and several other countries with her husband. Dorothy also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She is survived by children, Carol Sonnenberg of Napoleon, Kenneth (Barb) Honemann of Hamler, Daris (Lauren) Honemann of West Branch, IA; grandchildren, Karen (Bob) Weber, Deshler, Pam (Carl) Hurst, Archbold, Dennis (Teresa) Sonnenberg, Ridgeville Corners, Heidi (David) Ahleman, Grelton, Karrie (Brian) Sunderman, Clayton, MI, Kevin (Angie) Sonnenberg, Liberty Center, Jeremy (Kristyn) Honemann, Napoleon, Cory Honemann, Defiance, Lindsey Honemann & Reanne Honemann, Anchorage, AK, Erin Honemann, Iowa City, IA, Seth Honemann, West Branch, IA. 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren; and a brother, Eldon (Elaine) Meyer of Napoleon. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine; son, Ronald; brothers, Wilmer and Lawrence Meyer; and recently a son-in-law, Darwin "Darv" Sonnenberg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and on Wednesday 1 hour prior to the service at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Peace Lutheran Church, Napoleon Lutheran Home, Huntington's Disease Society of America, or the Alzheimer's Association.
