Helen Marie Norden

Helen Marie Norden, 86, of Florida, Ohio died peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Vancrest of Holgate with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born December 17, 1935 in McComb County, Michigan to the late John F. and Florence (Rasey) Von Deylen. On January 9, 1954 she married Weldon E. Norden at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners, Ohio and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2015. Helen worked in Napoleon at Franz Hardware, Fred H. Gerken Company as a bookkeeper and retired in 1999 from Wal-Mart. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Florida, Ohio and active in the Lutheran Women Missionary League. She was also a member of the Ridgeville American Legion Auxiliary and Napoleon VFW Auxiliary. Helen always looked forward to her Wednesday card and dinner night with friends. She also enjoyed many camping trips with family and friends and dancing and listening to polka from her husband’s polka band. Recently, she loved to follow all her great grandchildren sporting events, even with her iPad and especially loved her Sundays with church and lunch with them and grandchildren, spoiling the little ones with her dish of candy. She is survived by her daughter, Luann (Tony) Mullett of Holgate; grandchildren, Stacie (Greg) Mullins of Malinta, Seth (Barbara) Mullett of Milford, and Allison (Anthony) McKinney of Crestview, Florida; great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Irelyn, and Maddox Mullins, and Harper and Breyden Mullett; and a brother, Gerald (Karen) Von Deylen of Cincinnati. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard “Rick” Norden; sister, Marcella Wilson; and brothers, Ronald and John Von Deylen. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29th at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Florida, Ohio. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
