Gerald "Jerry" Cameron

Gerald "Jerry" Paul Cameron, 77, of Napoleon, Ohio died on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on June 1, 1939 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Laird and Vera (Boyd) Cameron. On February 15, 1958 he married Donna Ward at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Napoleon, Ohio. Jerry was a 1957 graduate of Jewell high school. He worked as the Human Resource Manager for ITT Higbea in Archbold, Ohio for 30 years. He also taught labor relations at Northwest Community College for several years. Jerry was very proud of God and country: He was a dedicated member of Knights of Columbus and served past Grand Knight of Napoleon Council 1344 and member of Bishop Rappe Assembly 824, Defiance. He was a veteran advocate of the ESGR for over 25 years to make sure veterans received their jobs when they return from service. Jerry received the ESGR Lifetime Achievement award for his dedicated service. He also was a former chairman of JSEC. His was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, loved spending time with his grandchildren, and was a terrific piano player. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Donna; children, Pam (Doug) Born of Swanton, Ohio, Kevin (Susan) Cameron of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, Rodney (Teresa) Cameron of Defiance, Ohio, Jerry (Bonnie) Cameron of Wauseon, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeanette, Chad, Nick, Luke, Ashlee, Shannon, Leiloni, Jerry III, Tiffany, and Tyson; 10 great grandchildren; siblings; Larry (Gail) Cameron, Bev (Joe) Minck both of Defiance, Ohio, Sharon (Larry) Rosti of St. Louis, Missouri, Nadine Reed of Defiance, Ohio, Marla Turner of Lima, Ohio, and Roland "Rol" Cameron of Defiance, Ohio. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Napoleon. Visitation will be held from 2 - 8 p.m. on Monday, May 1st at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon, where fourth degree Knights will stand guard from 6-8 p.m. and Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Augustine Catholic Church or Henry County Transportation.
