Cynthia Berg

Cynthia Ann Berg, 64, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away peacefully in her home on January 19, 2022 due to ALS. She was surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings. She was born on February 22, 1957 in Duluth, Minnesota to the late Loyd and Darlene (Lundy) Rasmussen. On October 2, 1982, she married Richard E. Berg at Clarkfield Lutheran Church in Clarkfield, Minnesota. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1975. Cindy was a stay-at-home mom until all her children were in school. She was then employed at the Campbell Soup Company for 25 years. She was a faithful member of the Apostolic Christian Center for 34 years and loved going to church and being with her church family. To know Cindy was to love Cindy, and she loved everyone in return. Her love for God was beyond compare and she praised him faithfully in spite of her many adversities, even in her last moments of life. Her beautiful smile, joy, and laughter were contagious. She inspired so many with her selflessness, unwavering faith, unconditional love and kindness, gentleness, and hope. She loved her husband and children beyond measure, but her greatest treasures on this earth were her grandchildren. Being with her family, especially her grandchildren, was her favorite thing to do and brought her such joy. Cindy also enjoyed reading her Bible, shopping at Walmart, gardening, finding the best deals at garage sales, canning, and baking, and often had requests for her pumpkin bars, kringla, pickled beets, and fried chicken. Cindy is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughters, Jessica (Adam) Hockenberry, Angela (Jewett) Reed, Marissa (Daniel) Maynard; son Josiah (Destiny) Berg; grandchildren, Makenna, Makayla, Kaiden, Quinten, Jahzlyn, Bryelle, Ava, Grace, Simon, Isabella, Bentley, and Oliver; siblings, Diane (Danny) Grant, Doug (Janine) Rasmussen and Susan (Daniel) Larson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Sheena Grant, and her nephew, Cameron Grant. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25th at the Apostolic Christian Center, Napoleon, Ohio. Interment will follow at Hoy Cemetery, Napoleon, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-8 p.m. and Tuesday 10-11 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to ALS Association Northern Ohio Chapter 6133 Rockside Rd.
