Clarence "Bud" Rodenberger

Clarence "Bud" C. Rodenberger, 82, of McClure, Ohio, died Saturday, July 23rd, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Napoleon. He was born on October 12, 1922, to the late Clarence E. and Edna Lucille (James) Rodenberger in Alger, OH. He married Evelyn (Shriner) Rodenberger on July 23, 1948, in Kentucky. Bud was the founding funeral director of the Rodenberger Funeral Homes, Inc., McClure in 1959, Deshler in 1968, and Napoleon in 1999. He previously was a funeral director for the Hanson Funeral Home in Ada and Alger, OH for several years. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II as a Pharmacist's Mate 2nd Class in the South Pacific. He was a member of the McClure United Methodist Church, Henry County Health Board, Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio for 50 years, Deshler OES Chapter #68, Past Patron of the Pacific Chapter in Liberty Center, 55 year member of the Roberts-McMillen Post #332 of McClure, Life member of the VFW of Roundhead, OH, member of the HI-12 of Okeechobee, FL and 55 year member of the National Funeral Director's Association & Ohio Funeral Director's Association. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of McClure; 2 daughters, Carol (Burley) Leese of Toledo and Jerrie (Kenneth) Gray of Napoleon; a sister, Sina Mae Shriner of Grand Rapids, OH, and a brother, Glen Rodenberger of Kissimmee, FL; 4 grandchildren, Cindy (George) Pope of Toledo, Brent (Jenna) Gray of Napoleon, Michael Rhody of Napoleon, and Brooke Gray of McClure; 6 great-grandchildren, Corey, Chelsea, Kyle, and Kaitlyn Pope and Drew and Calen Gray. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lavina Fae Foust and an infant sister, Elizabeth Rodenberger. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home in McClure and Wednesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Deshler and Thursday 10-11 a.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon. Funeral services will be held at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 28th with Pastor Boyd Shugert and Pastor Ron Claussen officiating. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the McClure American Legion at the Hockman Cemetery in McClure.
