Thomas Babcock

Thomas Edward Babcock, age 63, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024, at his home in Napoleon, Ohio, surrounded by his family. The fourth of five children, Tom was born February 1, 1961, to Earl and Sally (Rafferty) Babcock in Napoleon, Ohio. Tom married Leigh Ann (Cobb) Babcock on November 6, 1982, at First Presbyterian Church in Napoleon, Ohio. Tom and his wife Leigh Ann took pride in raising their children to know the Lord. A native of Henry County, Tom built his home by hand on family land. He loved time with his family, whether it was family vacations, mushroom hunting, doing projects around the house, or swinging on the front porch. He loved coaching all of his children and their friends in various youth sports. His favorite activity was doing anything with his grandgirlies, especially outside. He had an amazing gift of making all people feel included and had a heart of servanthood. As a born-again believer and follower of Jesus, Tom was a man who did the little things well, the things that really matter. Tom was a member of First Baptist Church in Wauseon, Ohio, and most recently was a member of Napoleon Church of the Nazarene. Tom was the Director of Domestic Transportation & Logistics at Sauder Woodworking where he worked for over 36 years, and prior to that he worked at Cloverleaf Cold Storage. His career was more than just work, and he dearly valued the relationships he built. Tom was preceded in death by his son Jess Babcock, his parents Earl and Sally, and his brother James Babcock. Tom is survived by his wife Leigh Ann (Cobb) Babcock; their children Seth (Melanie) Babcock, Bret (Rachel) Babcock, Rebekah (Cameron) Caryer, Emma (Blake) Graber; grandchildren Klara Babcock, Kenzie Babcock, Kayleigh Babcock, Berkleigh Caryer, Tessa Caryer, Camille Caryer, Sally Caryer, Mary Babcock; siblings, Steve (Kathy Carlson) Babcock, John (Candy) Babcock, Linda (Jeff) Boulton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Napoleon Church of the Nazarene from 2:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Napoleon Church of the Nazarene at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 29, 2024. Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home in Napoleon has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be given to Liberty Center Lifewise Academy.
