Arlene May Miller

Arlene May Miller, 91, of McClure, Ohio passed away at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green surrounded by her family on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born February 20, 1932, in Napoleon to the late Raymond and Edna (Gaede) Showman. At a young age she went to live with her uncle and aunt, Luther and Amelia (Gaede) Dietrich. She married Lee Miller on September 5, 1954, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon. She graduated from Napoleon High School in 1950. Prior to marriage Arlene worked at Murphy Dime Store, Napoleon Egg Auction, the State Theatre, the Neuhauser Hatchery Office and she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. After marriage she took on the many responsibilities of being a farmer’s wife. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, McClure, WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America), Farm Bureau Council, and the 5H social club. She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, and listening to the Statler Brothers. She also loved Mickey Mouse and playing Rummikub. She was an avid collector of Beanie Babies, Boyd and Dagenhart glass. Throughout her life Arlene was fortunate to be able to travel many places including Bermuda, The Bahamas, Hawaii, Italy, and many trips to Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Lee (son of Otto F and Mollie Miller of McClure); brothers, Burdette, Russell, Robert, Larry, Ronald, Richard, Kenneth and Leroy; and sisters, Shirley, Marlene, Carolyn and Patricia. She is survived by her children, Kevin (Kim) Miller, Kandy (William) Current, and Karen (Raymond) Tills; grandchildren, Tom (Sarah) Current, Tiffany (Dennis) Bechstein, Allison Miller, Andrew Miller, Logan Tills, Cody Tills, and Tanner Tills; great grandchildren, Maylee, Malcolm, Oliver, and Scarlett; sisters, Barbara (Duane) Haselman, Darla (Tony) Austermiller-Biel, Dawn (Michael) Miller; brother, David (Bonnie) Dietrich; sisters-in-law, Marlene Showman and Donna Smith; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, McClure, on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, McClure, on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM with an hour of visitation prior to services.
